Carter-Bernan is a company that provides consultation services to researchers and businesses interested in the discovery and development of microbial metabolites.  Our two founders, Dr. Valerie S. Bernan and Dr. Guy T. Carter draw on a combined 50 years of industrial natural products experience primarily at Wyeth, then one of the ten largest global pharmaceutical companies.   At Wyeth (American Cyanamid prior to 1995), both Drs. Bernan and Carter had key roles in the natural products discovery program, including: accessing unique biodiversity, taxonomy,  fermentation, screening, bioassay-guided isolation, structure determination, biosynthesis and project management.  Their complementary skill sets and experience (see About Us) are united to provide expert advice and problem solving in microbial natural products research and development.
